This tour includes various scenic, cultural and gastronomic highlights for lovers of Austrian cuisine and wine! You will have the possibility to crest the famous monasteries and castles (maybe sometimes you will find more castle ruins than complete castles) and feed on the most delicious Austrian wines and homemade Schnapps. Our tour will lead you and your beautiful vintage car or motorcycle from Passau to Krems, along the Danube and through the surrounding regions of Lower and Upper Austria. After driving through the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria and a quick stop in Linz at the Danube, we will experience one of the world´s most beautiful river landscapes and an UNESO world heritage site: Wachau, the region of fruit and wine, with its monasteries, Melk Abbey and Gottweig Abbey, among many other sightseeing points!

The first stop will be on the famous Pöstlingberg in Linz. If you would like to, you have the possibility to take a tour of the city, otherwise, we will set out for Mautstetten, Ybbs at the Danube and up to Maria Taferl and the monastery of Artstetten. Afterwards, we will drive directly to our hotel in Dürnstein.

Before we set out for our round trip through the Wachau (approx. 160km), we start the day with a tour of the cellar of the Domäne Wachau, a top producer of white wine in Austria. Afterwards, we will visit the UNESO world heritage sites, the Melk Abbey and Gottweig Abbey and enjoy a breath-taking view from the ruins of castle Aggstein. Additionally, we will visit Spitz at the Danube and cross the ridge of the highest mountain in the Wachau, the Jauerling (960m). On our way, you will find countless “Heurige”, the Austrian wine taverns, which we marked in your road book and where you have the possibility to stop off and enjoy some real Austrian wine culture. Alternatively, you have the possibility to visit the Maritime Museum. Our tour will bring us to Krems at the Danube and even a little bit further to another region, which is famous for its wine: the Kamptal. In Krems, you have the possibility to make a stop and explore the beautiful historic city center.

On the last day, our route of approx. 220km will lead us further into the Waldviertel and up to the Bärnkopf (968m). From there, we will drive alongside beautiful woodlands and landscapes, to Freistadt/Mühlviertel and back to Passau.
